Transports (By Road, Fixed Wing
or Helicopter) For years we have all been told to 'buckle up' when traveling in automobiles or aeroplanes; but when it comes to transporting neonates by either of these modes of transport, until now, there has been no means of securing these fragile, vulnerable children into the very machine that is supposed to save their lives. ![]() In the event of a vehicle (transporting a neonatal patient) being involved in an accident (even a minor one), the chances of the child being severely injured or killed as a result is considerable. A S.K.I.P Harness installed in your transport incubator, cot or stretcher will GREATLY reduce the risk. Developed
with considerable input from the National
Womens Hospital Flight Transport Team in Auckland, New Zealand; extensive
research, 2 years of design and development (including numerous prototypes),
and the S.K.I.P. Harness (Patent Pending) is finally available.
Comprising a 5 point securing system that, via the fixing kit, can be incorporated
into most
of the neonatal transport incubators available today; the S.K.I.P Harness
is manufactured to stringent specifications from soft leather, providing:
strength, durability and comfort along with complying with infection control
standards.Developed and manufactured in New Zealand, the S.K.I.P Harness (Securing Kids In Properly) has been tested to Civil Aviation Authority (New Zealand) airworthiness standards and is also approved by the LTSA (Land Transport Safety Authority). It is currently being used by numerous neonatal transport units throughout New Zealand, and also the St. John Ambulance Service. ![]() There
are currently 3 sizes of S.K.I.P Harness available, all of which are colour
coded for easy identification: 500gms to 1500gms, (Pink Label) 1.5kg to 5kg (Blue Label) 5kg to 10kg (White Label) Via the fixing kit, the harnesses can be used in/on either transport incubators, cots or stretchers. We are currently also developing a bassinet version for commercial airlines. Should you require any further information on this product, please contact us. Who Needs a S.K.I.P Harness?
